Great to meet you!

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Pennsylvania. I have been providing counseling over 25 years in various setting. Although I work mostly with high functioning individuals on individual and couple issues in my private practice, I have worked with populations with chronic illness, care-giving issues, grief, trauma, treatment foster-care, severe mental illness through different agency settings. I have earned my Masters and PhD in Marital and Family Therapy as well as Master degree in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary in CA.

As for understanding me as a therapist, I think it would be important for me to share how I see counseling. I believe we all struggle with one thing or another in life. Some of us were lucky to know what a wonderful thing it is to have a loving and patient friend that comes to our side and listen and offer help when we need it. Counseling is a lot like that, but with the understanding that we form a relationship of respect and care with a specific goal that will end when it is achieved. If you are looking for someone to walk the stormy junction of your journey and assist you to find serenity, serendipity, and joy, I might be someone you can work with.

My approach to therapy

I believe my clients are made after the image of God that is destined to live in love and peace. We are given the strength and inner wisdom that will guide us as we navigate our life journey. I work with my clients to understand what my client wants to achieve and work together to find what is stopping the client from achieving the goal so we can find ways to achieve it. We share many moments of laughter and tears during the therapeutic journey and I am a firm believer that nothing in life is wasted. We will find meanings are strength that comes from all of life's struggle.

What you can expect from me

Perhaps, the initial call/text/email is the most unnerving thing in the healing journey. You are reaching out to someone you have no reason to trust to assist you with very personal matters. However, I would like to share with you that I am also taking a risk trying to convince you to give me a chance to gain your trust (and counselors do get rejected at times). We will meet and work on what brought you to the session and what you want to see happen. We will then try to find ways to achieve the goals together.
