Great to meet you!

My name is Jane Meyers, and I am a Registered Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Upstate New York. I am a 55-year-old mother of three adult children, ages 35, 31, and 27. I’ve been deeply interested in psychology—as well as sociology, history, and human behavior—for as long as I can remember.

I earned my Associate's Degree from Adirondack Community College, followed by a Bachelor's Degree through SUNY Empire State College’s online program. In 2003, I received my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Marywood University. I also became a certified yoga teacher in 2021. I find that yoga and meditation often offer meaningful clinical benefits, both for my clients and for myself.

Since earning my MSW in 2003, I have practiced clinical social work across a wide variety of settings. My training includes several behavioral approaches—including cognitive and dialectical—as well as trauma-informed modalities (verbal, experiential, and somatic). I also regularly integrate somatic therapies into my work.

My professional experience has been local, national, and international in scope. I’ve worked with individuals, couples, families, and groups, across a wide range of ages, races, cultures, nationalities, religions, and gender identities. My areas of focus have included forensics, geriatrics, residential treatment, crisis counseling, and care for individuals with severe mental illness.

My approach to therapy

Over the years, I’ve trained in many tools of the trade, but the most effective strategy I’ve found is helping people discover the answers that already reside within themselves. For this reason, I take an eclectic, person-centered approach to therapy. I ask questions throughout the course of treatment to gain context and insight, allowing me to align what you already know about yourself with what I’ve learned through clinical practice. The longer I do this work, the more I’m struck by how truly unique each individual is. Collaboration is essential—and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside you in that process.

What you can expect from me

My goal is to help people in whatever capacity I can—whether that means supporting a deeper understanding of themselves or offering practical tools to manage difficult symptoms.

I’ve long believed that telehealth can expand access to care for those who might not otherwise be able to connect with a therapist. I’m grateful to be able to offer services in this way and to meet people where they are, both emotionally and geographically.
