Great to meet you!

I’m Janeil Ruiz, a PsyD and Licensed Clinical Psychologist. My work is grounded in the belief that we are embodied beings shaped by our lived experiences, biology, culture, relationships, and the stories we choose to tell about ourselves. I support clients from all backgrounds through life transitions, career changes, chronic and acute trauma, spiritual trauma, couples therapy, family therapy, relationship concerns, intimacy and vulnerability issues, and the process of creating healthier connections at both the individual and larger systems level. My goal is to provide an environment of acceptance, care, and collaboration where you feel supported in accessing your innate capacity to heal.

My approach to therapy

My approach is holistic, collaborative, culturally centered, and body-centered. I draw from neuroscience-informed care, relational understanding, and body-centered psychotherapy to help clients better understand how past experiences, trauma, identity, and relationships live not only in the mind, but also in the body. In session, we may explore the patterns, stories, emotions, sensations, and relationship dynamics that are shaping your current experience. I believe therapy should support the whole person — body, mind, culture, history, and spirit — while helping you build self-understanding, deepen connection, and move toward healing in a way that feels authentic to who you are.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my focus is on listening holistically to your story and beginning to understand what brings you to therapy. We will talk about your current concerns, your lived experiences, your relationships, your cultural context, and what healing or change may look like for you. Whether you are navigating a life transition, trauma, relationship challenges, family concerns, spiritual trauma, career change, intimacy concerns, or vulnerability issues, I will work collaboratively with you to create a space that feels accepting, thoughtful, and supportive. My hope is that you leave the first session feeling heard, respected, and more connected to the possibility of healing and meaningful change.
