Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Dr. Janelle Louis. I’m a licensed naturopathic doctor (licensed since 2016, currently licensed in VT) and a psychiatric nurse practitioner (currently licensed in AZ and WA, 2025) with over nine years of clinical experience as a healthcare provider. I take a whole-person approach to care and specialize in holistic mental health and integrative psychiatry. I work with children, teens, and adults facing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, schizophrenia, hormonal imbalances, and more.

After nearly a decade as a naturopathic doctor, I returned to school to further expand my clinical scope and training by becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner—allowing me to integrate conventional psychiatric care with my well-established holistic approach to mental wellness.

I help people find lasting relief through a personalized approach to mental health. My services include:

  • In-depth psychiatric evaluations to uncover the root causes of your symptoms
  • Thoughtful medication management, when needed, with an emphasis on minimizing side effects
  • Safe, supportive de-prescribing—helping you gradually and carefully taper off psychiatric medications when appropriate
  • Supportive psychotherapy and counseling to help you process, heal, and grow
  • Integrative treatment plans that blend modern psychiatry with holistic care for mind and body
  • Convenient telehealth appointments, so you can access care from the comfort of home

My approach to therapy

With training in both natural and conventional medicine, I focus on uncovering and treating root causes. I believe mental and physical health are deeply connected, and I take both into account when creating individualized treatment plans. Whether we’re using medication, natural therapies, psychotherapy, or a thoughtful combination of these modalities, my goal is to support your healing—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually—in a way that honors your values, so that you can live a vibrant, fulfilling life.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll begin with a comprehensive psychiatric diagnostic evaluation. Through our conversation, I'll take the time to really understand your history, your current challenges, and your goals for the future. By the end of this session, you’ll have a clearer picture of what’s going on beneath the surface and a personalized plan for moving forward. Depending on your needs, that may include therapy, medication management, holistic strategies, or a combination of those modalities. My goal is to make sure you leave that very first meeting feeling heard, supported, and hopeful, with a clear path toward healing and lasting change.

If we collaboratively decide that therapy will be part of your plan, you can expect a compassionate, collaborative environment where you’re encouraged to take an active role in the healing process. Our work together will be focused on not just addressing immediate concerns, but also on empowering you to develop healthier thought patterns, manage stress more effectively, and cultivate a sense of balance and well-being in all aspects of your life.

Whether it’s through integrative medication management or transformative psychotherapy, our goal is to create sustainable improvement—helping you feel more self-aware, more in control, and better equipped to navigate life’s challenges. Ultimately, my goal is to help you not just survive, but truly thrive, with the tools and insights you need to continue your growth long after our work together.
