Great to meet you!

Your desire to talk with a therapist may come from a nagging sense that something in your life isn’t working – a relationship with a friend or family member that causes stress, or a job that feels unsatisfying, or an overall sense that your life can feel more fulfilling.

Or, you may find yourself in the throes of a life change you didn’t expect: a change in health in yourself or someone you love, a crisis, the loss of a job, a relationship, or a loved one, and you need to talk through what’s next and how to manage new, unfamiliar experiences and the feelings they evoke.

I offer a welcoming, safe space to help you craft your next chapter, partnering with you to envision the outcomes you seek, helping you set a course forward, supporting you all along the way.

I am a career-changer, with years in the corporate and non-profit worlds as a writer and communicator. A decade ago I was inspired to pursue a career in social work and today, I offer therapeutic counseling to support adults of all ages as they enter new chapters in their lives.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is to get to know you and understand the ways you take in new information and perspectives, and gently shape our work together using methods that align with your style and preferences.

I rely on combinations of therapeutic approaches, believing that your preferences and instincts should shape the approaches I may utilize, such as CBT and ACT.

What you can expect from me

I would like to spend our first session gaining an understanding of what brought you to therapy at this juncture in your life.

I may ask you about experiences that influenced your decision, while also gaining a sense of your experience with therapeutic encounters in the past.

I would also want to know, as well, what you would consider a comfortable fit with a therapist to shape our partnership. If you think it’s a good fit, let’s talk more how we move forward together.
