Great to meet you!

Each person's journey to achieving improved mental health is unique, and as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I strive to create a safe and encouraging environment to promote healing and wellness. I believe that healing and wellness can only truly be achieved using a holistic approach, so I aim to look at the whole picture of the patient's wellbeing instead of only one segmented portion. By clarifying goals and in collaboration with the patient, we will create a custom plan to improve their quality-of-life using evidence-based interventions.

My medical background started as a Registered Nurse. After obtaining valuable clinical experience in multiple different settings, including critical care, emergency care, and post-operative care, I then obtained my MSN from the University of South Carolina as a Family Nurse Practitioner. While working with patients in this respect, I found that there remained a vast number of patients who needed more individualized and personalized mental health care than what was available to them. The pure need of these patients led me to become dual certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. My passion for helping others is driven by a commitment to making mental health care accessible and effective for everyone.

My approach to therapy

I believe that the most effective way to improve mental health is by working together as a team to obtain the patient's goal.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, I will ask a lot of questions in order to understand some of the patient's background and to get to know them as well as the reason that they are here. It will be sort of an introduction to see if the professional relationship is a good fit for both of us.
