Great to meet you!

I’m Dr. Janice Galizia, a licensed clinical psychologist with a passion for helping individuals and families feel heard, understood, and empowered. My professional journey has included work in schools, clinics, and hospital settings, where I’ve supported children, adolescents, and adults facing a wide range of challenges. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, grief, family conflict, and parenting concerns, and I offer both individual and group therapy. I also provide psychological evaluations and executive functioning coaching to support learning, organization, and emotional development. My practice is rooted in evidence-based care, but it’s also deeply personal - I understand how hard it can be to ask for help, and I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients of all ages feel respected and supported.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, strengths-based, and grounded in compassion. I believe that each person brings unique experiences and inner resources to the table, and my role is to help you tap into those strengths to create meaningful change. Whether I’m working with a child on managing anxiety through CBT techniques, guiding a parent through behavior strategies at home, or helping an adult navigate complex emotions or life transitions, I tailor each session to meet your specific goals. I also integrate mindfulness, relaxation training, and practical skill-building into sessions to promote lasting emotional wellness. Therapy with me isn’t one-size-fits-all - whether you're looking to gain insight, reduce symptoms, improve relationships, or simply feel more like yourself again, we’ll work together to create a supportive and productive space that meets you where you are.

What you can expect from me

Clients often leave sessions with greater clarity, confidence, and a set of actionable tools they can use in their daily lives. Whether it's a child learning how to challenge anxious thoughts, a parent gaining insight into their child’s behavior, or an adult navigating grief or life transitions, my goal is to help you build both insight and practical skills. You can expect to feel listened to, validated, and equipped with strategies tailored to your needs, whether that’s improving communication within your family, enhancing emotional regulation, or creating routines that support executive functioning. Over time, my clients often report feeling more empowered, resilient, and hopeful about their ability to manage life’s challenges.
