Great to meet you!

Hi! I’m Dr. Janine Ivy. I’m a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, but you can also call me a relationship expert, self esteem booster, an emotional supporter and a mood changer. I specialize in working women and people of color who want to feel better about themselves and their relationships. I can help you increase your communication skills, feel calmer and more in control of your emotions, have more confidence and decrease your symptoms of depression and anxiety.

My approach to therapy

We all deserve to feel good about ourselves, but let’s be honest, sometimes that is hard. Specifically when we are going through a life transition, facing a challenge, having problems in a relationship or struggling at figuring out our purpose and what we want to do with our life. My role is to help you learn to cope with your emotions in a productive way and feel better about yourself and your ability to manage your reactions.

What you can expect from me

I use a variety of methods to address behaviors, mood, relationship and life challenges including interventions from Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I will help you identify the source of the problems, develop techniques to stabilize moods, increase frustration tolerance, and develop communication skills. I also act as an advocate, a listener, and a mentor to make sure you always feel supported.
