Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Jannaee Brummell-Moore. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Los Angeles, California. With more than 15 years of experience providing therapy and managing outpatient community centers, inpatient treatment centers, medical offices, and educational environments, the goal remains the same: to help people do the work to feel better.

Wellness Work was born to create virtual safe haven for adults to work through life changes and challenges. I aim to help you have a better understanding of, and pride in, who you are, gain skills to manage your heavy thoughts and feelings, and build healthier relationships.

Currently, I typically work with adult clients 18 to 70 years of age dealing with anxiety, anger, depression, and stress-related issues. I enjoy treating individuals who experience relationship difficulties, and difficulty adjusting to life changes. Also, I often support those with self-esteem and purpose challenges. No matter your age or what brought you to therapy, I will meet you with compassion, empathy, and my undivided attention.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is client-centered with roots in cognitive behavioral, psycho-dynamic, mindfulness, and strengths-based therapies. This means we will work together to understand where you are and where you want to go, identify unhelpful thoughts and behavior patterns that sabotage your progress, identify how past relationships, and experiences impact your present worldview and actions, increase your awareness of yourself and others with less judgment, and most importantly, uncover and/or promote your strengths! I approach all this while seeking to understand and honor your cultural background and its influence on your wellness work.

What you can expect from me

During our sessions, you can expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I’ll start by getting to know you—understanding your goals, concerns, and a general idea of what you would like to achieve or change.

We will also discuss what's important to you, your beliefs, and hopes for the future. Next, we will create specific meaningful goals that you can actually achieve and track your progress over time. We will break down large goals into smaller, manageable tasks using action plans. (This makes the process less overwhelming and allows you to hold yourself accountable.)

I will be there to support you and assist in reflection and adjustments along the way. The hope is that with some consistent wellness work, you will pat yourself on the back for a job well done after your sessions.
