Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Jannet Martinez Chavira, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I am a Latina, daughter of immigrants, first-generation, bilingual and bicultural therapist, and mother. My own experiences have taught me how deeply our culture, family, relationships, and life experiences can influence the way we understand ourselves and the world around us.

I know that seeking therapy can feel unfamiliar or even uncomfortable, especially when you come from a family or culture where talking about emotions or asking for help may not always feel natural. I want therapy to be a place where you don't have to choose between honoring where you come from and taking care of yourself.

My style is compassionate, honest, and collaborative. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, life transitions, and personal growth. I believe therapy is not about telling you what you should do, but about helping you understand yourself, identify what you need, and make choices that align with the life you want.

Most importantly, I want you to feel seen, heard, and respected for the person you are, not just the challenges that brought you to therapy.

My approach to therapy

I want therapy to feel like a space where you can come as you are. We will work together to understand what is going on in your life, where certain patterns may come from, and what you want to be different. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, perinatal mental health concerns, relationship concerns, life transitions, and other challenges.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and talking about what brings you to therapy. I’ll ask questions about your experiences, concerns, and goals, and you’ll have the opportunity to ask me questions as well. We’ll also talk about what therapy will look like and how we can work together moving forward.
