Great to meet you!

"No man is an island, entire of itself..." -John Donne. I believe that as humans, we strive to connect with others and the world around us. However, when we struggle with anxiety, depression, traumatic events, unhealthy relationships, it can FEEL as if we are in fact alone. My role as a counselor is to connect us back to our authentic selves as well as to others.

My approach to therapy

My approach is largely influenced by the Family Systems model which focuses on relationships, communication, boundaries, and transforming lies that we or others tell us into truth. Success is measured by how the individual is able to feel the freedom to be themselves and find their role in their family/community without the fear of judgement.

What you can expect from me

I work with each client to see the whole environment that might be influencing the problem. Instead of focusing on the child that just can't seem behave at school/home, or the spouse that will not communicate, I look at the system as a whole and allow insight from the individual, couple, or family to guide the healing. This approach allows me to see children, adolescents, adults, couples, and whole families as we address the system/environment as well as the individuals in it.
