Great to meet you!

Sometimes the hardest part of moving forward is understanding why you feel stuck in the first place. Hi, I'm Jasmine Bentancourt, and I believe therapy should be a space where you can slow down, feel genuinely understood, and begin making sense of what you've been carrying. With an educational background from Aurora University, I support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, relationship issues, stress management, low self-esteem, emotional overwhelm, and major life transitions. Many of the people I work with are struggling with painful experiences, unhealthy relationship patterns, or the pressure of trying to hold everything together. My goal is to provide a warm, accepting, and nonjudgmental environment where you can explore your experiences, recognize your strengths, and develop healthier ways of coping. I believe meaningful change is possible, and you deserve support that helps you feel more confident, connected, and hopeful about the life ahead.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, open-minded, collaborative, and solution-oriented. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine partnership, where your experiences are respected and your voice matters. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based practices, attachment-based therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. In our sessions, we may explore how your thoughts influence your emotions, recognize patterns in relationships, practice mindfulness to manage overwhelming feelings, and identify practical steps toward your goals. I also incorporate trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches to help you feel supported while working through difficult experiences. My philosophy is simple: therapy should help you understand yourself more deeply while giving you tools that make a meaningful difference in everyday life.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a comfortable, trusting relationship. I understand that opening up to someone new can feel intimidating, so there is no pressure to share everything right away or have all the answers figured out. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, what has been feeling difficult, and what you hope will feel different moving forward. I'll ask questions to better understand your experiences, strengths, and goals, and you'll have plenty of room to ask questions of your own. Together, we'll begin creating a direction that feels realistic and meaningful to you. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, respected, and encouraged about the possibilities ahead.
