Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Dr. Jasmine Cohen-Young, DSW, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker with experience supporting adolescents and adults across a variety of clinical settings. I specialize in anxiety, stress, trauma, grief, life transitions, identity development, and the unique challenges experienced by athletes and high-performing individuals. As a former collegiate athlete and sport social worker, I understand the pressures that can come with performance, expectations, burnout, and navigating who you are beyond what you accomplish.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and practical—I want you to feel heard while also leaving sessions with tools you can use in everyday life. I use a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach and integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and person-centered techniques based on your individual needs. I especially enjoy working with adolescents, adults, athletes, and high-performing individuals navigating anxiety, stress, trauma, life transitions, identity, burnout, and performance pressure. Together, we’ll build on your strengths, explore what may be keeping you stuck, and develop strategies that move you toward the life and goals that matter most to you.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself without judgment or pressure. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what is currently working well, where you may be feeling stuck, and what you hope will be different as a result of our work together. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, we’ll identify goals that feel meaningful and realistic for you and begin developing practical strategies you can use outside of therapy. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, supported, and clear about what our work together can look like.
