Great to meet you!

Maybe you're the person everyone thinks is doing fine, but inside you're exhausted from overthinking, holding back tears, or carrying experiences you rarely talk about. You may be grieving someone you love, struggling to trust after being hurt, questioning who you are, or feeling pulled between your own needs and the expectations of your family, culture, or relationships. For women and LGBTQ+ clients, that can also mean spending years adjusting yourself to make other people comfortable and wondering when you get to simply be you. I create a space where you can exhale, put down some of that weight, and talk honestly about the parts of your life you may not feel comfortable sharing anywhere else. We'll pay attention to both your emotional and physical responses to stress because sometimes your body continues carrying what you've tried to move past mentally. My goal is to help you move beyond simply getting through life and feel more grounded, confident, and connected to yourself.

My approach to therapy

Therapy with me is about understanding not only what you're feeling, but why certain situations, relationships, and experiences affect you the way they do. We'll explore the patterns that keep showing up, whether that's overthinking every interaction, shutting down during conflict, putting everyone else's needs before your own, or feeling triggered by something that reminds you of the past. We'll work on changing the thoughts and reactions that aren't serving you while also making room for emotions that need to be felt rather than pushed away. When helpful, we can use breathing, grounding, mindfulness, and greater awareness of what you're feeling in your body to help you feel calmer and more present. We'll also look at how family, culture, identity, and past relationships have shaped the story you tell yourself about who you are. The goal isn't to become a different person, but to feel more at peace being the person you already are.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance to finally put some of what you've been carrying into words, without pressure to tell your entire story at once. We'll talk about what's happening right now, whether you're dealing with anxiety, grief, relationship problems, family pressure, questions about your identity, painful memories, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself. I'll want to understand how these experiences are affecting you emotionally, physically, and in your everyday relationships rather than looking at one problem in isolation. You decide what you're ready to share, and we can slow down when something feels difficult or overwhelming. We'll also talk about what you want your life to feel like if therapy is working, not just what you want to stop feeling. My goal is for you to leave feeling like you were genuinely heard and that you don't have to figure out what comes next by yourself.
