Jason N. Camu Psy.D., is a doctor of clinical psychology and a licensed psychologist in private practice for more than 25 years. Dr. Camu provides in-person and telehealth counseling and therapy for adults, teens and adolescents, as well as couples and families dealing with anxiety, depression, life stress and performance, family mental illness, career development, and various other emotional and mental health issues.

Dr. Camu is a top-rated author for his groundbreaking and provocative book about narcissism (A Shiny Reflective Surface: Understanding the Mind of the Narcissist). He is a nationally recognized consulting psychologist to television, including such shows as Undercover Boss, Bear Grylls, Wife Swap, Married at First Sight, Raising Tourette’s, Top Shot, America’s Supernanny, Ultimate Cowboy, and many others. His professional experience includes broad diversity, from private practice to hospital and inpatient settings to the U.S. military and professional and Olympic athletes. Dr. Camu has served as a LEAP trainer and provides consultation for those struggling with psychotic illnesses. He’s contributed academic articles in the areas of borderline personality disorder and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, narcissism, anxiety, instructional and supervisory considerations for other therapists, and was the Editor of the award-winning publication The San Diego Psychologist. He is currently in private practice in Southern California with offices in Rancho Santa Margarita (Orange County) and Carlsbad (San Diego).

Leaning towards direct, my style is to resolve anxiety, depression, and quiet conflict in the mind; we make substantive changes in therapy to finally create a sense of mastery over your problems. I strive to understand, support when necessary, and help clients live their potential. While sometimes challenging and typically a thorough process, our work can be life-changing.
