Great to meet you!

As a proud Alabama A&M University graduate, I have dedicated my career to improving mental health through thoughtful, evidence-based care. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing to support clients in making meaningful changes, and I tailor my approach to each individual’s needs, strengths, and goals.

I work with adolescents, adults, and older adults navigating substance use and addiction, anxiety, ADHD, depression, trauma, PTSD, stress, anger, grief and loss, relationship issues, men’s issues, and physical health-related concerns. I also have a special interest in supporting veterans and individuals dealing with chronic stress. My goal is to empower clients to overcome challenges, build healthier patterns, and create lasting change that improves their everyday lives.

My approach to therapy

I like to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients work through the changes they want to make. My approach is practical, collaborative, and focused on helping you better understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

In addition to CBT, I draw from Motivational Interviewing, Strength-Based Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). Depending on your needs, our work may focus on reducing anxiety or depression, managing ADHD symptoms, processing trauma, strengthening coping skills, improving emotional regulation, addressing substance use, or building healthier ways to respond to stress and life challenges. My goal is to help you make steady progress in a way that feels realistic and meaningful.

What you can expect from me

The first session is set up for us to get to know each other and better understand the changes you want to pursue. It is also a chance for us to make sure we are a good fit and can work together effectively toward the goals that matter most to you.

You can expect a supportive, respectful, and participatory environment where your concerns are taken seriously and your progress matters. We will talk about what brought you to therapy, what has been difficult recently, and what you hope will be different moving forward. Over time, our work may help you better manage stress, improve emotional awareness, build practical coping tools, strengthen relationships, and feel more confident in your ability to make the changes you want.
