Great to meet you!

Veteran. Counselor. Wellness Strategist.

I’m Jason Culbreth—a Licensed Professional Counselor, Navy veteran, and founder of Cadence Wellness. I specialize in working with military, first responders, and high-performing individuals navigating trauma, transition, or burnout.

With nearly three decades of hands-on experience in emergency medicine, tactical operations, and mental health care, I offer more than therapy—I offer strategic recovery. My approach integrates functional fitness, contrast therapy (cold plunge and sauna), sound healing, EMDR, and mindset coaching under one roof. You won’t find this level of whole-person care in a traditional clinic.

My service dog, Luis, joins many of our sessions. He’s part of our mission: creating a space where you can feel safe, regulated, and ready to rebuild.

Whether you're dealing with operational fatigue, trauma, or you're just looking to find your edge again, I’m here to walk with you. My work isn’t just clinical—it’s mission-driven, trauma-informed, and backed by real-world resilience.

My approach to therapy

Key Principles of My Work

1. Trauma-Informed, Not Trauma-Defined

I understand trauma deeply, but I don’t let it define my clients. I help you reprocess what’s stuck, whether through EMDR, somatic strategies, or narrative work. We get to the root without staying in the hole.

2. Integrated Functional Wellness

I don’t separate mental health from physical resilience. Sessions may involve traditional talk therapy or functional movement, cold exposure, breathwork, or gym-based interventions. The goal is to rebuild nervous system regulation, confidence, and self-leadership.

3. Direct, Structured, and No-BS

I don’t coddle, and I won’t pretend insight equals change. We’ll work with clear goals, honest reflection, and measurable progress. If you want to do the work, I’ll meet you fully. If you don’t, I’ll say that too.

4. Brotherhood and Accountability

As a Navy veteran, EMT, and former firefighter, I understand what it means to be part of a team—and how isolating it can feel when you’re not okay. I help men reconnect to a healthy form of masculine identity, leadership, and responsibility—without shame.

5. Mission-Focused Recovery

I believe healing is most powerful when it’s attached to purpose. Whether it’s rebuilding your family life, rediscovering joy, or finally stepping into who you’re meant to be, therapy becomes a base of operations—not a destination.

This is more than counseling. This is rehab for the mind, body, and spirit—built for those who serve, lead, and carry more than most.

What you can expect from me

Clients walk away with more than just insight—they leave with tools, direction, and a renewed sense of ownership over their life.

Here’s what you can expect to take from our work together:

1. A Clearer Mindset

You’ll learn how to name what’s happening internally, understand why it’s happening, and create space between the trigger and your reaction. You’ll stop spinning your wheels and start gaining traction.

2. Real Tools That Work

From breathwork to movement, EMDR to mindset shifts—you’ll leave each session with something practical you can apply immediately. I don’t waste your time with abstract theory. If it doesn’t work in the real world, I don’t use it.

3. Structure and Direction

We’ll set targets and track progress. Whether it’s regulating your nervous system, rebuilding trust, or getting back to doing what you love, we’ll work with purpose, not just process.

4. Honest Feedback

Expect to be challenged. I will reflect the truth back to you—respectfully, but directly. You won’t be coddled, but you will be supported.

5. Nervous System Regulation

We’ll work on building a baseline of calm and control. You’ll learn how to manage your internal state in high-pressure situations—not just survive them.

6. Reconnection to Self and Mission

You’ll clarify what matters to you, what you’re fighting for, and who you want to become—then start living that out. Therapy becomes your training ground, not just your safe space.

Bottom line: You can expect a high-accountability, purpose-driven space that honors where you’ve been but focuses on where you’re going.
