Great to meet you!

Life gets messy, painful, and confusing at times—and it’s hard to sort through it on your own. I’m Jason Duenas, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, a Licensed Professional Counselor–Supervisor in Texas, and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Utah. For over 13 years, I’ve worked with individuals and couples navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship struggles, and the moments when life feels heavier than it should.

People often tell me I’m warm, honest, and easy to talk to. I show up as a real person, not a distant expert. With couples, I draw heavily from the Gottman Method to help you understand your patterns, communicate more clearly, and rebuild connection in practical, sustainable ways.

My goal is simple: to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and able to move toward a life and relationships that feel more grounded and whole.

My approach to therapy

I believe you’re the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you see the parts that are hard to see on your own. I take a collaborative, respectful approach that honors your values, your culture, and the story you bring into the room.

My work blends trauma-informed care, attachment-based insight, and practical, solution-focused tools. When working with couples, I use the Gottman Method to help you understand conflict patterns, improve communication, and build the foundation for a stronger partnership.

Therapy with me feels like a real conversation—supportive, honest, and focused on helping you make sense of what’s happening underneath the surface so you can move forward with more clarity and confidence.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I want you to feel comfortable and at ease. Expect a relaxed, judgment-free space where you can share what’s been going on and what you’re hoping will feel different.

I’ll ask questions to learn about your story, what’s been weighing on you, and what you want to change. For couples, we’ll begin exploring the dynamics of your relationship and identifying the patterns you both want to work on, using principles from the Gottman Method to guide our next steps.

By the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer sense of where we’re headed, what our work together will look like, and the first small steps forward. Most clients leave feeling heard, understood, and less alone.
