Great to meet you!

My name is Dr. Jason Koch, a licensed clinical psychologist. For the past three years, I have specialized in supporting veterans and their families who are navigating complex medical and psychological comorbidities. My training focuses on treating combat-related PTSD and co-occurring substance use disorders, adapting evidence-based therapies for individuals with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and neurodegenerative diseases, and helping people successfully adjust to major life changes—such as receiving a life-altering diagnosis, becoming a caregiver, grieving a loss, or transitioning after losing a job or marriage. I also work with those who sense that “something needs to change” and are ready to end unhelpful patterns, relationships, or life directions and create a more fulfilling path forward.

My approach to therapy

I take an eclectic approach to therapy, drawing from multiple evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and brief psychodynamic therapy. I believe each person is unique and often holds answers they haven’t fully discovered yet, so we begin by exploring your experiences, patterns, and goals together. Once we’ve found what you want to change, we can map out a path from where you are to where you’d like to be.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other. I’ll briefly explain what therapy with me typically looks like, go over the limits of confidentiality, and answer any questions you have. Then we’ll start exploring what brought you in and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy.
