Great to meet you!

Before becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor, I spent almost 30 years working in fire and emergency medical services. That experience gave me a firsthand understanding of trauma, grief, high-stress work, and the pressure to remain strong when life becomes difficult. My counseling style is practical, collaborative, and compassionate. I work with first responders, healthcare professionals, adults, and couples who want to process difficult experiences, develop effective coping tools, and build greater stability and connection.

My approach to therapy

My approach is practical, collaborative, and grounded in an understanding of how trauma, grief, and prolonged stress can affect the mind, body, and relationships. I combine 30 years of experience in fire and EMS with specialized clinical training in trauma and grief counseling, including EMDR. We will work at a pace that feels manageable, using approaches tailored to your needs to process difficult experiences, recognize unhelpful patterns, and develop tools that support meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we will focus on understanding what brought you to therapy, what you need most right now, and what would help you feel safe and supported. When you are dealing with trauma, crisis, or overwhelming stress, stability often comes before deeper processing. We will begin identifying practical tools you can use in daily life while developing a plan for our work together. We will look back enough to understand what is affecting you today, while keeping our attention on healing, hope, and the life you want to build.
