Great to meet you!

If you're feeling low, anxious, or just not like yourself, reaching out can be the hardest step. I'm glad you're here. I'm Dr. Jatinder Singh, a psychiatrist who believes good care starts with listening. I trained at Penn State and Yale and spent much of my career in academic psychiatry, and I'm board-certified in both psychiatry and addiction medicine. Along the way, I also studied integrative medicine, because I've seen how much sleep, rest, and daily rhythm shape how we feel. I especially enjoy working with adults who are starting care for the first time or coming back after a break, and who want a doctor who respects both the science and the whole person.

My approach to therapy

Many people come to me after feeling rushed or reduced to a diagnosis elsewhere. I take the time to understand the full picture — your history, your stressors, your sleep, your goals — before we decide on anything. When medication helps, I prescribe carefully and explain my reasoning. When something else is the better tool, I'll tell you that too.

Each visit combines medication management with brief, focused therapy. Depending on what you need, that might be cognitive therapy, including CBT and rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), for spotting and loosening the rigid "musts" and "shoulds" that keep us stuck; behavioral activation for rebuilding energy through small, doable steps; motivational interviewing for working through ambivalence about change; or brief psychodynamic work exploring patterns from the past that still show up today. I also teach mindfulness-based skills for sleep, daily rhythm, and calming the nervous system, always alongside proven treatment, never instead of it.

What you can expect from me

It's completely normal to feel a little nervous before a first visit, and you don't need to prepare anything or have the right words. Our first appointment is about 60 minutes by secure video. We'll talk through what brings you in, your history, and what you've already tried, at whatever pace feels comfortable. You decide what to share and when, and you're always welcome to ask questions or pause. By the end, we'll agree on a clear plan together, and nothing changes without your input. Follow-up visits combine medication review with focused therapy time.

I see adults located in Pennsylvania. I don't offer ADHD evaluations, and I don't prescribe stimulants, buprenorphine, or other controlled medications on an ongoing basis.
