Great to meet you!

Hi there! My name is Javier, and I am a therapist whose work is grounded in the recovery of trauma and its multiple manifestations in mental health. Through my lived experiences, professional knowledge, and liberation perspective; I have worked towards helping others recover from their traumatic wounds and liberate themselves from the chains of intergenerational traumas and systemic oppressions. My priority is making sure I am able to provide you a safe and judgment-free space that allows you to find relief and begin healing from the ongoing stresses of childhood trauma and living in a toxic culture.

My approach to therapy

Through compassionate curiosity, I utilize attachment-focused, acceptance and commitment, and systemic approaches to understand how your past lived experiences, relationships, and the larger systems around you have resulted with your current challenges in life. Healing isn’t about “fixing” yourself, because you are not broken. Healing is about understanding yourself with compassion, challenging the patterns that no longer serve you, and moving toward a life that aligns with who you truly are. I am looking forward to joining you in your journey of healing and growth towards a fulfilling and authentic life.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is really about settling in and getting a sense of what’s bringing you here. It’s a chance to slow down, take a breath, and begin naming what you want for yourself. I’ll invite you to share whatever feels important; parts of your story, what’s been challenging lately, or anything that feels confusing or heavy. There’s no pressure to prepare or say things perfectly; we’ll start exactly where you are.

You can expect a conversation that feels thoughtful, curious, and grounded; not clinical or detached. We’ll explore what you’re hoping to get from therapy, and I’ll ask questions to help us get a clearer picture of your patterns, your support system, and how stress shows up for you in your body and emotions. From there, we’ll begin sketching out what healing and growth might look like for you.

My focus in this first meeting is to help you feel safe, understood, and genuinely supported; to begin building a foundation of trust. By the end of our time together, you’ll have a sense of how I work, and we can decide together whether it feels right to continue.
