Great to meet you!

I'm a licensed clinical psychologist based in Sacramento with 14 years of experience working with people navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, health concerns, and family stress. Being bilingual — I've conducted therapy in Spanish throughout most of my career, primarily in community health centers. Even though I am also a director of behavioral health services, spending time with my clients to help them get where they want to be is one of the most rewarding and meaningful parts of my day. You don't need to have things figured out before reaching out — that's what we do together.

My approach to therapy

I trained in a primary care setting, which shaped how I work: I get oriented quickly, skip the months-long intake ramp, and start with what's actually in front of you. Over time I've found that most of what people struggle with — no matter the diagnosis — involves a few recurring patterns: what we avoid, what we tell ourselves, and how we respond under pressure. I work at that level, which is why my approach tends to be helpful across a wide range of concerns.

I keep the whole person in view, not just the presenting symptom. That means I'm also paying attention to what's happening around you — your relationships, your work, your cultural context — because those systems shape what's possible and what feels stuck. In session, I'll notice things and say them out loud. I often find that an objective perspective can be helpful in areas where you feel stuck or feel like something is murky. It is hard to grow and change on our own, but with support and grounded direction, real breakthroughs are possible. Even if it took a long time to get where things are, it doesn't have to take a long to change course. Just a willingness to reach out an desire to want something better for your life!

What you can expect from me

Most sessions will end with something concrete — a clearer read on what's happening, or one practical thing to try before we meet again. You set the pace, and I'll follow your lead on how deep and how fast we go. I also do not see any value in keeping you in therapy longer than needed. Some people want a focused stretch of work and then to go and live it out in their lives — that's a good outcome. When it's time to transition out from working together on the issue, we'll name it together. That way you can focus fully on your unique process and growth, knowing that your path forward doesn't have to fit anyone else's mold or timeline.
