Great to meet you!

Hi! I’m Jayne (pronounced Janie), a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who works with adults navigating trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, and the many complexities that come with being human. I have a PhD in counselor education and more than 15 years of experience in the mental health field. I mainly use Internal Family Systems (IFS), along with mindfulness, neuroscience, and creative approaches to help you better understand yourself and the patterns that have developed through your experiences. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and we’ll work together with curiosity, compassion, and respect for what feels right for you.

My approach to therapy

My style is warm, collaborative, and curious. I primarily use Internal Family Systems (IFS), which helps us get to know the different parts of you with compassion rather than trying to judge, fix, or get rid of them. I also draw from trauma-sensitive mindfulness, neuroscience, and creative approaches, depending on what feels useful to you. Everything we explore is invitational—you have choices about what we do, how deeply we go, and what you practice between sessions. We’ll also consider how your relationships, experiences, culture, community, and environment have shaped who you are today.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know one another and begin exploring what brings you to counseling. I’ll invite you to share what feels important, ask questions to better understand your experiences and the larger context of your life, and talk with you about what you hope might be different. You don’t need to tell your whole story or dive into difficult experiences before you’re ready. Together, we’ll begin identifying what you’d like from therapy while leaving room for those goals to change as we learn more. Most importantly, I hope to create a space where you feel respected, curious, and able to show up as you are.
