Great to meet you!

Hi! I am a practicing therapist with over 16 years of experience, starting a bit late in life. I have been an LCSW for 10 years. I have worked in various settings working with clients across the spectrum of age and from different cultures and backgrounds. I focus on self-healing, self-agency, and self-understanding. I believe that therapy is about understanding your self and your life as much as it is about learning how to manage your symptoms. Perhaps more so. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, PTSD and enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ clients. You'll hear me talk about learning how to nurture your Child Ego State so if please consider that. I know it is not for everybody.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is to provide a space of clients to do their work and to offer what tools and insight I have to help them. It's a collaborative process where we both learn and discover. I tend to focus on somatic strategies for managing mood as they also help bring the individual into their body. I am open to the spiritual path of my client and incorporating this view as much as possible. Therapy is a very personal, very spiritual, for lack of a better word, experience. I am open to any paths a person might be on, Christian, Pagan, or "I don't know", to name a few. I also focus on early childhood experience because the coping strategies and behaviors we are using today were formed at early age and based on our childhood experiences, particularly our family dynamic.

What you can expect from me

A first session is an evaluation. We create a narrative of the clients life, starting with early childhood, and moving to the present day, being as succinct as possible. We will also discuss scheduling and I'll discuss your diagnosis. I will explain why i think this is the best diagnosis and explain the symptoms and patterns.
