Great to meet you!

Hi! I am Jean Melconian a board-certified art therapist with years of experience working with children and adolescents. I specialize in helping young people express themselves, process emotions, and navigate life’s challenges through the creative process of art-making.

My approach to therapy

My approach is both compassionate and collaborative. I believe that every child has a unique voice, and through art, they can begin to understand and communicate their inner world. I also work closely with families, schools, and other support systems to ensure consistent, well-rounded care.

Whether your child is struggling or simply needs a creative outlet to grow and thrive, I’m here to help guide that journey—one brushstroke at a time.

What you can expect from me

  • A safe space to express emotions without needing to find the “right” words
  • Improved emotional awareness and the ability to recognize and name feelings
  • Healthier coping strategies for stress, anxiety, anger, or sadness
  • Increased self-esteem through creative accomplishment
  • Better communication skills—both verbal and nonverbal
  • Insight into personal challenges and patterns of behavior
  • A sense of calm and regulation through the therapeutic art-making process
