Great to meet you!

I believe therapy should be a place where you feel genuinely heard, respected, and supported without judgment. My approach is warm, compassionate, and down-to-earth, while also being honest and encouraging when growth feels difficult.

I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable, especially when you have been carrying things on your own for a long time. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you walk through the door. We will start where you are and move at a pace that feels right for you.

My goal is not to tell you how to live your life, but to help you better understand yourself, recognize patterns that may no longer serve you, build healthier coping skills, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change. I believe resilience can grow even from some of life’s most painful experiences, and you do not have to navigate that process alone.

Above all, I want my clients to know that when they enter my office, they are meeting a real person—not just a therapist. I value authenticity, connection, humor when appropriate, and creating a space where you can simply be yourself.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing, so I meet each client where they are and tailor therapy to their unique experiences, needs, strengths, and goals.

I use a trauma-informed and strengths-based perspective while incorporating approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based strategies when appropriate. I focus not only on the challenges bringing someone to therapy, but also on understanding the experiences, relationships, and patterns that may be influencing how they feel today.

I strive to create a warm, genuine, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe enough to be honest, vulnerable, and fully themselves. Therapy with me is a partnership—we work together to build insight, develop practical coping skills, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Most importantly, I believe people are more than what they have been through. Healing does not mean erasing the past; it means learning how to move forward without allowing the past to continue defining your future.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my priority is helping you feel comfortable, heard, and understood. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and I don’t expect you to walk in knowing exactly what to say or where to begin.

We’ll spend time getting to know one another and talking about what brought you to therapy, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you hope might be different in your life. I may ask about your history, relationships, current stressors, strengths, and support system so I can better understand you as a whole person—not simply the challenges you are facing.

The first session is also an opportunity for you to get a feel for me and my therapeutic style. You are welcome to ask questions, share concerns, and let me know what you need to feel supported. Therapy should feel collaborative, and finding the right therapeutic relationship matters.

You can expect a warm, compassionate, and judgment-free space. We won’t try to solve everything in one session. Instead, we’ll begin building trust, identifying your goals, and creating a path forward together—one step at a time.
