Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Jeanet Vargas, LCSW dedicated to supporting individuals navigating divorce, breakups, and major life transitions. I am passionate in working with first generation population and professionals managing stress, anxiety, depression, and OCD.

As a first-generation individual, you may carry unique pressures—balancing family expectations, cultural values, and personal needs—while trying to honor where you come from and where you’re headed. Together, we’ll work through these challenges, exploring tools to manage grief, anxiety, and self-doubt, and to help you reconnect with your voice and inner strength.

My approach to therapy

My approach is trauma-informed, attachment-based, and EMDR-focused, helping clients understand how past experiences and relationships shape their current patterns. Together, we’ll work to heal emotional wounds, strengthen self-awareness, and develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.

I strive to provide a warm, culturally responsive space where you can process challenges, reconnect with your strengths, and move forward with confidence and clarity.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a foundation of trust and understanding. During this time, I’ll invite you to share what brings you to therapy, what goals you hope to work toward, and any past experiences that might be helpful for me to know. There’s no pressure to share everything at once — we’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable and safe for you.

I’ll also explain my approach to therapy, discuss confidentiality, and answer any questions you might have about the process. Together, we’ll begin identifying patterns, strengths, and areas of focus to guide our work moving forward.

If you’re new to therapy, it’s completely normal to feel a mix of emotions — curiosity, hope, maybe even a little nervousness. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can show up just as you are and start your journey toward healing and growth.
