Great to meet you!

I believe a trusting, caring, and nonjudgmental therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful growth and change. With over 20 years of experience, I work with adolescents, adults, older adults, and families. My approach is trauma-informed and strengths-based, recognizing how trauma, relationships, and life experiences can shape how we see ourselves and the world. I have extensive experience with trauma, self-destructive behaviors, family challenges, and the criminal justice system, with a passion for helping clients recognize their strengths, heal, and create meaningful change.

As a Clinical Associate Professor of Social Welfare and Doctor of Social Work, I bring extensive clinical and academic experience to my practice. My approach combines empathy, empowerment, and thoughtful problem-solving to help clients of all ages recognize their strengths, navigate challenges, and reach their full potential.

You shouldn't have to choose between your mental health and your budget. I'm Jeanette, an LCSW and Doctor of Social Work, and I built my practice around that belief. Let's find out if we're a fit.

My approach to therapy

My approach draws on psychodynamic work and motivational interviewing, which means we spend time understanding what is driving your patterns, not just managing their symptoms. I ask about your history, your relationships, and what has felt stuck, and we look at those together. I also bring a strength-based lens, which means we identify what is already working for you and build from there. Sessions feel like a real conversation. I will be direct and warm, and you will not feel judged. Most clients find that over time they start to understand themselves in a way that actually changes things, not just for a week.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is mostly you talking, me listening, and both of us figuring out if we are a good match. I will ask about what brought you here, what has been hardest, and where you would like to be. You do not have to have it all figured out. Come as you are, and we will sort out the direction from there. Most clients leave that first session feeling heard and a little clearer about what they want to work on.
