Great to meet you!

Hey. I know you've probably been looking through a lot of profiles, and asking for help can already be hard enough without also having to figure out who to choose from a long list of people.

So first, I want you to know that you don't have to have everything figured out before you get here. And you don't have to worry about being judged for whatever you're going through.

Sometimes you need someone to help you work through something. Sometimes you need someone to vent to. And sometimes you just need a place where you can finally feel all the things you've been holding together in front of your family, friends, school, work, or whoever else depends on you.

I'm here to listen, support you, and help you make sense of things when you're ready. I want you to feel safe, heard, and genuinely understood. You don't have to make your story sound better, worse, or more put-together than it is. You can just show up.

I'm a bilingual English/Spanish therapist with experience working with children, teens, young adults, and families. I especially enjoy working with trauma, anxiety, neurodivergence, family and cultural stress, and those complicated situations where several things seem to be happening at once.

We'll figure out what you need together. I've got you.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy starts with something called unconditional positive regard, which is really just a clinical way of saying: you don't have to prove anything to me to deserve acceptance, care, or support.

You don't have to perform for me. You don't have to be strong for me. You can just be yourself.

That might mean crying about something you haven't thought about in years, laughing at a joke that is probably a little inappropriate, or even listening to a K-pop song together because it means something to you and no one else in your life really gets why. If it's important to you, I want to understand it.

I do use evidence-based approaches, including CBT and ACT, but my foundation is humanistic and person-centered. I don't believe therapy should feel like I'm sitting across from you analyzing everything you say. I want to know who you are, what you've lived through, what matters to you, and how you make sense of your world.

I think of therapy as bringing two kinds of expertise together: you are the expert on you, and I'm the expert on therapy. You bring your experiences, your values, your history, and everything you've learned about yourself along the way. I bring my training, clinical knowledge, and tools that can help us understand what's happening and figure out what might help.

Then we work on it together.

What you can expect from me

Okay, so you booked with me, now what? When we first meet, I'm probably going to ask you a lot of questions because I genuinely want to get to know you.

I want to know why you're here and what you're struggling with, but I also want to know what you're great at and what makes you smile. I want to know who the important people in your life are, who you might be having a hard time with, and—if you know—why. We'll talk about which parts of life feel the hardest right now, whether that's work or school, relationships or family, falling out with friends, a bad breakup, or something completely different.

I'll also explain confidentiality and its limits in plain language so you know what stays between us and the situations where I may be required to act for someone's safety. If there's ever something you'd like me to share with another person, we can talk about that together too.

And you absolutely get to ask me questions. This isn't an interview where I'm the only one who gets to be curious.

Honestly, the first session might feel a little awkward. We're two people who just met, and suddenly we're talking about your life. But that's okay. We'll get through the awkward part together.
