Great to meet you!

Hi! I’m Dr. McCusker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified School Counselor & a Certified College Access Counselor. I have over 25 years of Counseling experience in private practice, public & private schools and as an Adjunct Professor for Counseling graduate school. I help clients walk through all aspects of life transitions from working with parents who are trying to connect with their children to clients who have anxiety or depression to helping adults with anything life throws at you.

My approach to therapy

I am here to listen and walk beside you through your life journey. I create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that includes multiple treatment modalities for clients to discover what is causing their difficulties in life.

Using CBT, Acceptance and Reality in schools and private practice, have been effective ways to help clients along their counseling journey. Having someone to help you find the cause of anxiety or depression or ADHD and then challenge to change your thinking is truly empowering.

What you can expect from me

We will work together identify your challenges and goals...what do you want your life to look like in 1 month, 6 months, a year from now? We will then identify tools and strategies you can use to achieve your goals. You will leave each session with a better understanding of your challenges and then an action plan approach. There will always be time for discussions concerning our work together and how sessions can shift based on successes and setbacks.
