Great to meet you!

I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families, and I enjoy incorporating creative, developmentally appropriate interventions to support emotional expression and skill-building. I have experience and training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have a bachelor's in journalism and a master's in communications. I went back to college in my late 40s to earn a second master's is in counseling from Liberty University because I wanted to help women and children. I have volunteered at a county jail where I worked with women for two years. I have also worked at a child advocacy center where I worked with abused children and teenagers and their caregivers; I also served as a school therapist one year. I have worked with a variety of people in my private practice and through another online therapy platform.

My approach to therapy

I am a mental health therapist who is passionate about helping children, adolescents, and women feel understood, supported, and empowered. In my work, I support clients navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and emotional regulation challenges. I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based practices while also prioritizing connection, safety, and trust in the therapeutic relationship. I place a strong emphasis on the therapeutic alliance, as I believe meaningful progress begins with clients feeling genuinely seen, heard, and safe. I strive to create a space where clients can show up authentically, knowing they will be met with warmth, consistency, and nonjudgment. At the same time, I value bringing a human element into the therapy space. I believe that appropriate use of humor, authenticity, and genuine connection can help foster trust and make the therapeutic process feel more approachable and engaging. Therapy can be both meaningful and enjoyable, and I aim to create an environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves while doing important work.
