Great to meet you!

I've been a licensed LMFT in Sacramento, CA. for over 40 years. My primary education was at California State University, Sacramento, but have received extensive training in other areas that include, but not limited to: PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Domestic Violence, Grief, Family Systems and interpersonal relationships. I have vast experience with diverse populations, cultures within unique mental health settings and situations. Historically I have worked with young children and teens, but my areas of focus have shifted to young adults, afults, and seniors in areas of Depression, PTSD, and interpersonal relationships with individuals and couples.

My approach to therapy

My philosophy is that the relationship between client and therapist requires trust. It is an honor to be a part of their journey as they move through difficult times. While offering support and unconditional positive regard, therapy also sometimes requires gentle confrontation and directness to overcome areas of difficulty.

What you can expect from me

I like to have a brief telephone consultation initially to answer questions and discuss what brings you to therapy. During this time we will decide if there is a positive connection in order to move forward.

Each client brings their strengths and growing edges into our work together. First sessions are designed to get a historical perspective of how issues came to be and how your life is being impacted by them on a daily basis. From there we will create a treatment plan to begin addressing them. There is no one-size-fits-all therapeutic technique,so i will utilize evidence based techniques to provide you the best possible outcome. I will check in frequently to insure our communication solid.
