Great to meet you!

Many of the people I work with are going through some kind of transition.

Sometimes that looks like anxiety that’s getting harder to manage, feeling stuck in the same patterns, or navigating changes in relationships, identity, or life direction. Other times it’s grief, stress, or a sense that something just isn’t working the way it used to.

You might find yourself overthinking, shutting down, or reacting in ways that don’t quite make sense, even to you. You may understand things logically, but still feel stuck emotionally.

My background is in clinical mental health counseling, and my work is grounded in approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I also have advanced training in working with relationship dynamics, which often show up even in individual therapy.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a journalist. That still shapes how I work today. I pay close attention, listen for patterns, and help you make sense of your story in a way that feels clear, grounded, and meaningful.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, active, and focused on both insight and practical change.

We’ll look at patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and relationships and work to understand what’s keeping you feeling stuck. I use CBT to help identify and shift unhelpful thinking patterns, and I integrate EFT to work with the deeper emotional experiences that often drive those patterns.

I’m not a “just sit and listen” therapist. I’ll ask questions, offer observations, and help you connect the dots in ways that feel useful and relevant to your life.

At the same time, I want therapy to feel like a space where you can be honest and real. We’ll move at a pace that feels manageable, while still working toward meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll focus on getting a clear picture of what’s bringing you in and what you’d like to be different.

You don’t need to have everything figured out ahead of time. Part of our work is helping you put words to what you’re experiencing. I’ll ask questions to understand your history, current concerns, and goals, and we’ll start identifying patterns or themes that may be important.

By the end of the session, you can expect to have:

  • a better understanding of where we might focus
  • a sense of how I approach therapy
  • and a clearer idea of what next steps could look like

My goal is for you to leave feeling understood, not overwhelmed, and with a sense that change is possible.
