Great to meet you!

I came into mental health 7 years ago from education. I work mainly with trauma and PTSD. I've had training in several trauma treatment modalities, including EMDR, and I tailor my approach to my clients. What excites me most is the possibility and process of healing: I've watched clients go from suicidal to functional to thriving. I work individually with older adolescents, adults and elders on issues of anxiety, depression, addiction, anger management, trauma/PTSD, dissociation and others.

My approach to therapy

My approach is an integrative one, and I try to use what seems to work best with each client. Many of my approaches work with the body--i.e., I teach clients how to pay attention to and work with (i.e. change) some of their physical reactions and symptoms. Finding the roots of many of our difficulties in our bodily reactions and body memories allows for us to use some powerful methods for healing and change. My goal is for you to leave therapy with more than what you came for.

What you can expect from me

I generally work toward three types of goals: Tools, insights and changes. The most immediate need is for tools to help us manage the situation(s) we currently find ourselves in. Next, we look to try to understand those situations better and learn what kinds of things might support change. Finally, we work together to accomplish those changes: You will learn how to work with your body, your reactions, and how to reduce or eliminate the symptoms that brought you here.
