Great to meet you!

I'm Jeff! As your therapist, it is my goal to see you become a better version of yourself. It is my belief that life's experiences teach things about the world that may no longer be the most helpful or true today; even if they were true at the time in our past. When we don't adapt and remain flexible, we find ourselves in a web of mistaken beliefs, thinking errors and unresolved life problems. As a result, it becomes too hard to find our way and manage life's challenges in the here-and-now. I love to be present when my clients find a new way and authentically experience change. I've worked with clients from many walks of life and with varied needs. My areas of expertise are in Behavior Modification, Depression, Anxiety, Psychosis, Risk Assessment. Trauma and PTSD. I use a Cognitive Behavioral and Humanistic approach to help my clients bring out the best in themselves. I like to use humor, challenging questions, and a direct approach because I think in counseling we should get to the point, and we should have fun doing it.

My approach to therapy

I use a Cognitive Behavioral and Humanistic approach, because real change happens when you understand both your thought patterns and your own worth as a person. We'll work together to spot the thinking errors and outdated beliefs that made sense once but aren't helping you today, especially around anxiety, depression, trauma, and PTSD. I'm direct: I like humor, I'll ask challenging questions, and I believe counseling should get to the point. My goal is to help you bring out the best in yourself, find a new way through what's been stuck, and actually experience that change, not just talk about it.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we'll talk openly about what's brought you here and what's not working right now. I'll ask direct questions, because I believe we should get to the point rather than dance around it, but there's room for humor too. We'll start untangling the thinking errors and beliefs that may have made sense in your past but are holding you back today. You'll leave with a clearer sense of where we're headed, and feeling like someone is finally being straight with you.
