Great to meet you!

I have been married for forty three years and have 3 children (married) and 6 grandchildren. With over forty years of experience as a therapist I have worked with clients who experience depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, bipolar disorder, PTSD and grief. I have taught and worked as a family therapist and marriage counselor. My practice in Tai Chi, Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation is meaningful and provides perspective in both my daily life and as a therapist.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is strength, resource and resiliency based. We focus on how to alter ways of experiencing a situation and how to make behavioral changes, My approach to therapy includes practicing and trying on different coping strategies. We explore how family of origin issues impact current life dilemmas. I recognize how the experience of family is critical to working through current life challenges. I focus on creating a dialogue in therapy and understanding each person's world view,

What you can expect from me

A comprehensive assessment is completed at the first session. A treatment plan is completed with clear objectives and a focus for treatment. During sessions clients explore the pros and cons for change. We identify their resources, strengths and possible options for how to change their lives. At times homework tasks are given to clients. Each session is unique as emergent needs are addressed.
