Great to meet you!

My name is Dr. Jeffrey Levine, I am a Connecticut Licensed Psychologist, who has been in private practice for over 40 years. I have extensive clinical experience and training and have treated a wide variety of symptoms. My approach to treatment goes far beyond talk therapy. It is not uncommon for my clients to express how different therapy can be, from their previous experience. They seem to experience a much deeper analysis and a quicker access of the issues that need to be attended to. While being heart centered and caring, I'm really committed to helping you feel better. I think you will see the difference in the first session.

My approach to therapy

I utilize two primary approaches to treatment, Internal Family Systems and E.M.D.R. Why, because talk therapy cannot access the places where our pain resides. I will show you how and why your symptoms exist and most importantly how to approach your healing efficiently and comprehensively. Please know talk therapy and other treatment approaches do not have the ability to access where the pain exists. Unfortunately, painful memories are more isolated in the brain. Only the right pathway can access the site for healing.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is really an opportunity for you to get a sense of how I approach treatment and for me to learn about what brings you into my office. I'll ask about your presenting concerns, background and family history, and will focus a lot on how your symptom presents. Usually, by the end of the session, I will begin to explain and clarify issues, so that what I understand is made clear to you with a treatment plan in place. We will decide if moving forward makes sense to you. Please know I realize how hard a first session can be. I am sensitive to what it feels like to be a client and meet someone new for the first time. My clients have expressed how comfortable they feel being in my office. I look forward to meeting you and to help you have the less pain and discomfort. Dr. Levine
