Jeffrey Steer

Hello! My name is Jeffrey Steer, and I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for 17 years. My education and training have given me experience in working with a variety of issues related to mental health, and I especially enjoy working with clients who struggle with stress, anxiety, and challenges of daily life. I also have an interest in working with men's issues and clients who identify as LGBTQIA+.

During sessions, I seek to get to know a client and learn about who they are as a person through helping them identify their strengths and learning what they would like to gain from therapy. I also use a solution-focused, relational approach to help clients feel comfortable during sessions and allow me to meet them where they are at in their journey towards their vision of mental wellness.

My goal is to create a warm and welcoming environment for sessions so that clients will feel heard and comfortable in discussing their current struggles. I also strive to work together with the client to help them meet the goals they set for themselves in therapy without using a "cookie-cutter" approach. I encourage clients to consider trying a variety of strategies between sessions so they can determine which ones are the most helpful for them.
