Great to meet you!

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has been in the field for four decades. I was licensed in 1992 and, since then, have been a supervising, and practicing, psychotherapist. During my time in the mental/behavioral health field, I have worked with an extremely wide array of issues/diagnosis, from teens and adults afflicted with schizophrenia to children dealing with adjustment issues.

With each new person who has engaged in treatment, I have always strived to help them become the best version of themselves as possible, while reaching to accomplish any constructive goals they may have for themselves. I have no preconceived notions, moreover, of what “normal” is, or should be. So, I continue the pledge to assist clients in troubleshooting and problem solving how they can have their best life possible, along with the most comfort and least problematic symptoms as possible.

Thank you for your interest and only the best moving forward.

My approach to therapy

I prefer to have a relaxed, inviting environment. One that is safe enough for emotional exploration and growth. At times light, at others not so much, as we delve into issues. Humor is often essential for healing - when appropriate. If I had to put my approach into a category, it would be a blend of cognitive, dynamic, solution focused, and, at times, strategic.

What you can expect from me

The first session always depends on the nature. If I am doing a clinical assessment, I will need to ask relevant questions one's situation, while we get to know each other a bit. If no assessment, I would still want to get to know each other a bit, while exploring expectations and one's story. Very relaxed and safe.
