Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Jelani. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Arizona and my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Temple University. I have been working in the mental health field since 2019, including experience in partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient trauma settings. I now support adults (18+) as they navigate trauma, anxiety, and major life transitions—especially those who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from the life they want.

I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can show up as your authentic self. You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy—we’ll take it one step at a time, together.

My approach to therapy

My approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and informed by Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I’m also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which can be a helpful option for working through trauma and distressing experiences and the Gottman Method, which can help partners improve communication, work through conflict and strengthen their connection.. I believe therapy can help you build the skills and confidence to move toward the life you want. Together, we’ll create a supportive space where you feel heard, explore what may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical tools that fit your unique needs.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and talk about what brought you to therapy. I'll take time to understand your experiences, answer any questions you have, and learn what you hope to gain from our work together. We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable, and you'll have space to ask questions. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and with a clearer idea of how we can work together.
