Great to meet you!
I’m Jennifer Connelly, a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina and Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor in Florida. I’ve been practicing psychotherapy since 2009, with a clinical background in trauma, addiction, relationships, and family dynamics.
Before opening my private practice, I worked in residential trauma and addiction treatment in South Florida as a Lead Therapist and Clinical Director. I led intensive group therapy workshops and family programs and worked extensively with individuals and families navigating trauma, addiction, and recovery. I’ve spent the past seven years in private practice, helping adults understand and change patterns that may have developed as ways of coping or surviving.
I’m certified in Motivational Interviewing and trained in EMDR and Post Induction Therapy (PIT). My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and attachment-based, incorporating techniques from IFS, Inner Child Work, Gestalt therapy, and CBT.
I believe therapy should be a safe place to be honest without judgment. I’m warm and compassionate, but also direct when it’s helpful. I want to understand not only what you’re experiencing today, but what may be underneath it.
I work with adults experiencing trauma, emotional neglect, anxiety, depression, addiction or compulsive behaviors, people-pleasing, low self-worth, codependency, and relationship difficulties.
My goal is to help you understand yourself more deeply, heal what is unresolved, develop healthier patterns, and create more fulfilling relationships and a life that feels authentically yours. You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy, you just have to be willing to begin.
