Great to meet you!

Hello! I’m Jennifer Porter, M.A., LPC. I provide counseling for children, adolescents, adults, and families.

💛 Areas I Particularly Enjoy Supporting

Children & Adolescents

  • Anxiety, worry, and emotional regulation
  • ADHD and executive-function challenges
  • Autism and neurodiversity
  • Social skills and friendship challenges
  • Self-esteem and confidence
  • Behavioral and emotional concerns
  • School-related stress
  • Family relationships and life transitions

I have a particular passion for working with neurodivergent children and families, including those navigating Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.

My experience includes working with children as young as three years old, as well as working directly with children with autism through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). This experience has given me a unique understanding of the behavioral, emotional, social, and family challenges that can accompany neurodiversity.

My approach to therapy

My Approach

My goal is to create a counseling environment where children and families feel understood, supported, and empowered.

I draw from evidence-based and child-centered approaches, including:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy • Dialectical Behavior Therapy • Play Therapy • Solution-Focused Therapy • Family Therapy • Applied Behavior Analysis

I am also trained in trauma-conscious yoga and children's yoga.

What you can expect from me

First Session

For children under 12, the first session is intake with parents only, we will go through the intake paperwork and questions and do goal setting. Second session will be with at least one parent and the child.

For those 12-18 first session will start at least with both child and parent/s, and the parent may step out after the initial paperwork and questions.

For those 18 and over, we will keep it low key, talking through the intake and getting to know where your strengths are and how those can help to bring balance to the weaker areas. We will establish a plan for care.
