I have been in residential substance abuse most of my career and I have a SUDC license (Substance Use Disorder Counselor). I moved over to general outpatient in 2019 and have been working with a wide array of clients since then. Since most of my career and training has been with single adults, I do not see children and I do not work with couples and families.
I specialize in codependency and helping clients increase self esteem and hold better boundaries without guilt and fear. I use EMDR and IFS techniques in combination to facilitate healing and help alleviate trauma. I love to focus on increasing self love and self forgiveness to create change and empower you to be the best you you can be.
I am direct and will challenge core beliefs and unhealthy thought patterns pretty outright, but I believe I am warm and empowering as well. I have a lot of clients who stay with me over many years and tell me it is because of the safety and transparency from being genuine. I believe that is the best environment to grow and change in, when you know you are fully accepted and therefore can talk about character defects and mistakes without shame.
