Great to meet you!

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with more than 20 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families in school-based and community settings. I believe that meaningful therapy begins with feeling safe, heard, and understood, and I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can be themselves. I am trauma-focused and trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and EMDR, and I am also a Registered Play Therapist, allowing me to tailor therapy to each clients age, needs, and individual way of communicating. I specialize in helping clients navigate trauma, anxiety, emotional and behavioral challenges, life transitions, and difficult experiences while building the skills and confidence they need to move forward.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I believe every client has their own unique story, strengths, and experiences, and therapy should be tailored to meet them where they are. I focus on creating a safe and trusting relationship where clients feel heard and understood while also providing practical tools and evidence-based strategies to support meaningful change. Whether working with children, adolescents, or adults, I use a combination of approaches based on each person’s individual needs, including trauma-focused therapy, EMDR, and play therapy. My goal is to help clients better understand themselves, work through difficult experiences, build confidence and coping skills, and feel empowered to move forward.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my goal is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and understood. We’ll spend time getting to know each other, discussing what brought you to therapy, and exploring the experiences, concerns, and strengths that are important to you. We’ll talk about what you hope to gain from therapy and begin developing goals that feel meaningful and realistic for you. I’ll also explain what you can expect from our work together and answer any questions you may have. Most importantly, there is no pressure to have everything figured out on the first day—we’ll take the process one step at a time, at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
