Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Jen Aguon, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of Leap of Hope Therapy PLLC. My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by both professional training and lived experience. I was raised on a small island in the Pacific, where the importance of community, resilience, and connection is deeply rooted in everyday life. These values continue to guide my work today. My journey eventually led me to Houston, where I am honored to support individuals and families from diverse backgrounds as they navigate life’s challenges and work toward healing and growth.

My approach to therapy

Here at Leap of Hope Therapy PLLC, we understand that healing is not linear. We meet you where you are at and encourage you to move at your own pace. I approach therapy with the belief that it should be a collaborative, respectful, and individualized process. No two individuals are the same, and therapy should reflect that. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and genuinely understood—without judgment or pressure. Together, we will work at a pace that feels right for you, focusing on building insight, strengthening coping skills, and fostering meaningful, lasting change. I strive to provide an environment that is inclusive, affirming, and grounded in empathy and trust. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, I am here to walk alongside you with compassion and intention.

What you can expect from me

Your first therapy session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a foundation of trust. During this session, I will take time to learn more about what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, relevant personal history, and what you hope to achieve through our work together.

You can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you are encouraged to share at a pace that feels comfortable for you. There is no pressure to tell your entire story in one session. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and respected from the very beginning.

We will also discuss your goals for therapy, explore any questions you may have about the therapeutic process, and begin identifying strengths and resources that can support your growth and healing. By the end of our first session, you can expect to have a clearer understanding of how we can work together and what the next steps may look like.

Above all, I want you to leave feeling supported, empowered, and hopeful about the journey ahead.
