Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Jenna, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor offering an affirming, judgment-free space for adults who want to understand themselves a little better and build a life that actually feels like their own.

I specialize in trauma and grief, helping people make sense of experiences that have changed them, navigate loss in all its forms, and find a way forward without feeling like they have to erase or “get over” what happened.

I especially enjoy working with LGBTQ+ clients, creatives, healthcare professionals, and people navigating anxiety, depression, relationships, identity, self-worth, and life transitions. I have a particular interest in supporting healthcare professionals who carry the emotional weight of caring for others, process difficult or traumatic experiences, cope with loss, or try to reconnect with themselves after burnout.

My approach to therapy

My style is warm, collaborative, curious, and human. I use approaches like CBT and DBT, but I don’t believe therapy should feel like sitting across from someone with a clipboard while they silently analyze you. We’ll explore the patterns that keep showing up, learn tools for the moments when your emotions feel bigger than you know what to do with, and make room for the parts of yourself you may have learned to shrink, hide, or question.

Therapy can be serious without always feeling clinical. There can be humor here. Creativity. Swearing. Tears. Celebrating the tiny wins. Figuring out boundaries. Unlearning old stories. Processing what happened. Making space for grief. Becoming a little more unapologetically yourself.

You don’t need to arrive with a perfectly articulated goal.

Come as you are. We’ll figure out the rest together.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is really about getting to know each other and figuring out what you want therapy to look like.

We’ll talk about what brought you in, what life looks like for you right now, and what you’d like to feel different. I’ll ask some questions about your history, relationships, experiences, and the things that have shaped you, but you’re always in control of what you’re ready to share.

If you’re coming to therapy for trauma or grief, you won’t be expected to unpack your entire story in the first hour. We can go at your pace. Building trust and helping you feel safe in the room comes before diving into the hardest parts.

My sessions tend to feel conversational and collaborative. You can cry, laugh, swear, ramble, change the subject, or tell me you have absolutely no idea what you’re supposed to say. There’s no “right” way to do therapy.

By the end of our first session, my hope is that you feel a little more understood, have a clearer idea of what we can work on together, and—most importantly, feel like you can be yourself here.
