Great to meet you!

I earned my Doctorate in Family Medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) and later pursued advanced training to complete a Doctorate in Psychiatry. This combined background allows me to approach mental health care with a broad understanding of both physical and psychological health. I diagnose and treat children, adolescents, and adults, providing comprehensive psychiatric care across the lifespan. My clinical focus includes the evaluation and treatment of depression, anxiety, and mood disorders, using evidence-based approaches tailored to each patient’s individual needs. By integrating my training in family medicine with specialized psychiatric expertise, I strive to provide thoughtful, compassionate care that addresses the whole person and supports long-term mental and emotional well-being.

My approach to therapy

I approach psychiatric care with a commitment to holistic, evidence-based, and patient-centered treatment for children, adolescents and adults. My goal is to understand each patient within the full context of their life, including biological, psychological, social, and environmental factors that influence mental health. I prioritize building a collaborative and trusting therapeutic relationship where patients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their care. Using current evidence-based practices, I integrate thoughtful diagnostic evaluation, psychotherapy principles, and when appropriate, pharmacologic treatment to develop individualized care plans. I also emphasize education, shared decision-making, and coordination with families and other healthcare providers when beneficial. By addressing the whole person rather than only symptoms, I aim to support meaningful, sustainable improvements in mental health and overall well-being.

What you can expect from me

During the first appointment, my priority is to establish a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where patients feel comfortable sharing their experiences and concerns. Building trust is essential to forming a strong therapeutic relationship, so I take time to listen carefully, understand the patient’s perspective, and explore the factors that may be contributing to their mental health challenges. I believe that effective treatment begins with collaboration, and I work with patients to develop individualized care plans that reflect their goals, values, and preferences. Through open communication and shared decision-making, we identify appropriate evidence-based treatment options—whether therapeutic, lifestyle-focused, or pharmacologic—to support their overall well-being. This collaborative approach helps empower patients to take an active role in their care while fostering a partnership built on trust, respect, and mutual understanding.
