Great to meet you!

Hello and welcome! Thank you for considering me as part of your mental health journey.

My name is Jennifer Adams, and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) based in Cincinnati, Ohio. I also hold an additional certification in Trauma-Responsive Care. Over the past ten years, I have had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, adults, and families from diverse backgrounds. These experiences have shaped my compassionate, individualized approach to therapy and allow me to meet each client where they are.

I believe that healing begins in a space where you feel safe, supported, and genuinely heard. As your therapist, my goal is to create that environment while working collaboratively with you to build on your strengths, overcome challenges, and achieve meaningful, lasting change. Whether you're navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, or a major life transition, I am committed to supporting you every step of the way.

Thank you for stopping by. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.

My approach to therapy

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process built on trust, compassion, and respect. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable exploring your thoughts, emotions, and experiences.

My approach is trauma-informed and person-centered, recognizing that every individual's story is unique. I strive to meet you where you are while helping you identify your strengths, develop healthy coping strategies, and work toward meaningful, lasting change. Together, we will explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, process difficult experiences, and build practical tools to help you navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and resilience.

I tailor therapy to your individual needs, drawing from evidence-based approaches that best support your goals. Whether you are working through trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, or life transitions, I am committed to partnering with you every step of the way.

Above all, I believe healing happens through authentic connection. My hope is that you leave each session feeling heard, supported, and empowered as you move toward the life you want to create.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a strong therapeutic relationship. My goal is to create a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free space where you can feel comfortable sharing at your own pace.

During our first session, we'll discuss what brings you to therapy, explore your current concerns, and review relevant aspects of your personal history. We'll also talk about your goals for therapy and what you hope to achieve. This initial conversation helps me better understand your unique experiences and allows us to develop a plan that aligns with your needs and priorities.

I understand that starting therapy can feel both exciting and overwhelming. There is no pressure to share everything at once. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and you are always encouraged to ask questions throughout the process.

By the end of our first session, you can expect to have a clearer understanding of how we can work together and what the next steps in your therapeutic journey may look like.
