Great to meet you!
I work collaboratively with clients to help them meet their goals. Within a safe, trusting, and therapeutic professional relationship, clients can identify their presenting concern. I am skilled at getting to the heart of the matter pretty quickly, informing them what the research says we can do about the problem, and then helping clients identify what they would like to change and help them to get there.
My degree is specifically in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and we can set goals, objectives, and track progress, I am trained in specific counseling skills, which help clients to express themselves and share what is happening for them. I attended a cultural immersion trip to Africa for two and a half weeks at the culmination of my Master’s degree, wherein I attained an additional certificate as a Clinical Traumatologist. This training included psychological first-aid, knowing how to respond in a crisis situation; domestic violence, sexual abuse, parenting/family life issues; as well as the neurobiology of stress and trauma.
My training equips me to work with a myriad of presentations. Treatment approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy, somatic experiencing and mindfulness, as well as parts work, which is part of Internal Family Systems. Additionally, I help clients identify their strengths and ares which may need improvement. I am also EMDR trained Level 2 as well as couples counseling Gottman Method Level 2 trained. I also have experience in treating OCD, which many times is accompanied with a lot of shame. I am uniquely skilled at helping couples begin to dialog and understand their relationship in a way in which they can experience healing, hope, and growth, increasing intimacy, healthy conflict skills, and friendship.
